When I use the AWT on my machine it feeds the wire all the way through to the feed rollers in the back of the machine. The problem is the machine does not recognize that it is fed through, and tries to backfeed the wire. Any suggestions?
Look for wire that is caught in the ejection roller and the gears that drive it. Also make sure you dont have any broken wire around the upper head/theader assembly. If the wire grounds to the casting it can cause the wire to back up. Does your machine have the Belt style threader on it?
I did have some wire wrapped around one of the drive rollers. I got that out, but it didn't help. It is the belt type AWT. 85 Pipe AWT.
I also started messing around with some of the settings for the AWT(such as feed time, speed, etc.) and I set the AWT-I feed time from 3 sec. to 10 sec. and that helped. Maybe it was a combination of the feed time and the wire around the drive roller.
Whatever it was it has been working great all day now!
Thanks for your help. I never would have expected the wire to be wrapped around the roller with the chopper attatchment on this machine.
